Hi, Besides i18n problems (I have this bug too) gnome-vfs-extras2 package has much bigger problems - browsing smb network isn't usable in Debian Sarge :(
When I type smb: in nautilus window a login dialog comes asking, that I have to enter credentials to view smb://WORKGROUP. I canceled the login prompt and nautilus window displayd some workgroups. Double clicked on a workgroup, nautilus tried to displayed some computers present in that workgroup. Authentication dialog prompted again and again to enter credentials to view a particular machine in the list. But I was not trying to view that machine and I have not clicked on it. I've found this bug on gnome bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119172 It seems, that this is libsmbclient version 3.0.x bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=700 This bug is fixed in gnome-vfs-extras version 0.99.13, but this version depends on gnome-vfs version 2.5.x :( It seems, that someone should port some changes from 0.99.13 to 0.99.12, which depends on gnome-vfs version 2.4 and upload improved gnome-vfs-extras2 version 0.99.12 package to debian. I've tried to port these changes to gnome-vfs version 2.4 but it's too dificult for me :( Could anyone more experienced in gnome-vfs coding help to make debian with Gnome desktop usable in smb network? Should I report a bug for gnome-vfs-extras2 debian package ? -- Good luck, Mantas KriauÄiÅnas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Jabber ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Public organization "Open Source for Lithuania" - www.akl.lt
