Hello Adam, thank you for explaining.Maybe I am a bit to enthusiastic but a "standard-icons" virtual package sounds like a very big deal and step forward for Debian desktops. All GUI packages can depend on that. It might really increase the "quality" of the Debian desktop. ;)
