There shouldn't be. I expect any process that works for sparc/ppc ISOs to also work for parisc ISOs. > Ah obviously I checked MD5 and it matches, so I would exclude having d/l the > image in the wrong mode or such. good > > We use PALO as boot loader. > > Older firmware might say "ISL" when listing boot devices. > Yes, that is what I get when I insert the hp-ux cd in the drive. ok - good to know. > I suppose gentoo uses the same method as yours to boot (only their ISL file > is in the root and not in a directory) and I can't get their CD to boot > either. Well, I'd expect that since gentoo are likely using palo as well to generate the LIF-like image for the ISO. Sounds like 7x0 firmware wants more on the LIF-like image than palo is generating. Not sure we'll be able to fix that. You might try some of the older images (Debian 3.0r0) just to see if that was a recently introduced bug. The only alternative I can suggest is attempting to net boot/install. There are "lifimage" files available that can be fed via rbootp (IIRC) to the 7x0 workstation. Perhaps someone else can suggest a HOW-TO for setting that up. grant
