Hello all,
thanks for your help.
I didn't get it to boot for installation. I still think there is some
kind of "size" problem when loading kernel + initramfs.
But I have a working installation now. :-)
I couldn't write the CD contents to the hard disk as suggested, since I
already have a NetBSD installation on the 2nd hard disk (1st hd is HPUX).
So I used Adrian's December 2025 CD image to make an installation in
qemu. Then I dumped the contents of the qemu root fs and wrote it back
to the physical disk on the machine in NetBSD.
NetBSD uses a "disklabel" partitioning scheme on the disk, so I used the
blkdevparts Linux kernel parameter to specify the partition boundaries.
Maybe that's not needed and Linux understands the disklabel, but I
didn't try since I lost patience and wanted to get it going finally.
I'm using that APT sources.list:
# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian/ sid main
deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 13.0.0 _Sid_ - Unofficial hppa NETINST
20251206-07:29]/ sid main
#
regards,
chris
