I *like* /proc
What are the arguements for excluding it? Forgive me if I'm not very informed, I recall someone saying that the Hurd is probably going to do away with /proc To quote lore: "The simple things should be really simple..." I'm convinced that using a mechanism other than procfs is less than this, short of making system calls like getuidforpid() and whatnot. I'm probably not the only one who will ask. --Michael Bacarella
