Hi, all packages that could be uploaded to the Debian ftp archive have been installed into the archive by now. (Actually, all except libreadline which I just uploaded and which will be installed tomorrow).
This is phase I from the transition. You will notice that some critical packages are missing, though. Phase II will be a revival of the debian repository at alpha.gnu.org, for libio (what used to be debian-libio). We will do this as clean as possible. However, due to an unexpected bug in the Hurd, there is another thing that needs to be done: Some packages get built with wrong uid/gid on files. This bug has to be fixed to get correct packages into the archive. I did not upload broken ones. Unfortunately, some very important packages trigger this bug, including dpkg, debianutils, base-files and libpng. Except the latter, all of these are also in the tar file on alpha, so you can still install the new libio system from that. As soon as this second part of phase II is done, we can resume auto building with buildd. PHASE III will be very important, and includes moving to gcc 3.1, and getting libc0.3 into the archive. Likely, this can not be accomplished before woody is released because of deficiencies in the release procedure (which stalls updates even for non-released architectures).
