Because when they get started because a process opens their node, they don't know that that process is in a chroot. > I thought translators were safe beasts :-( Depends on what safety you want. > > > > > rootskel (Samuel T. , which patch is needed?). > > > > > > > > The one which is on debian-ports, simply. > > > > > > Do I have to download the source from debian-ports the see which patch > > > is needed, or is apt-get source enough? > > > > That's equivalent. > > No they are not. If I apt-get source rootskel I do get the Debian > archive version, not the one from debian-ports. You are missing the deb-src entry for debian-ports in your sources.list then. That being said, since it's only udebs, I apparently only uploaded on http://people.debian.org/~sthibault/hurd-i386/installer/pool/main/misc/ > > > Has a bug report been submitted? > > > > No, because the changes aren't finalized. > > What is left to decide on?? See the changelog: * use a for loop around template loading. For some mysterious reason it hangs otherwise. = src/lib/debian-installer/exit-hurd: pass -f to busybox to make it simply call reboot(), which DTRT. * add a basic umount command. = Do not require TERM_FRAMEBUFFER to be set for g-i on !linux-any. = Require TERM to be set to hurd for g-i on hurd-any. = Harmonize S40term-hurd with linux & kfreebsd, fixes glitch with network-console. Some of these are already commited to the official debian package (I've marked them '='), others aren't because they are just hacks.
