NO NO NO...Don't tell this to package developers for debconf templates. They have to put their comments in the *source* templates file. The file usually names "templates" or "<package>.templates" in their source tree. THEY SHOULD NOT MESS UP WITH PO AND POT FILES. This always ends up in catastrophes. (did I yell enough? :-)))) These files are generated by po-debconf at build time. So, if they have comments, they should put them before the individual template in the source template file.
