Christian, I have to share Slavko's feelings. The last application I tested for translating PO strings that I considered to be very good it was Kbabel. That was at the time of KDE 3.5.x (more than 5 years ago) and while using it I didn't have to search for anything else. Yup, it tended to crash from time to time but given its features I was simply a happy translator. Then it came KDE 4 and well, let's say that things that were working reasonabily well just stopped from doing it: Kbabel was replaced by Lokalize and this tool was not ready for "prime time" until a couple of years later so translators had to look for alternatives. By that time I moved from KDE to GNOME and thus forgot about Kbabel/ Lokalize and tried POEdit and lastly Gtranslator but these tools lack for many simple features a usual translator needs. Now (2013) I, speaking as translator, feel like if I had lost most of the functionalities that I already had back in 2007 and translating PO files has become an unpleasant task. If that's my feeling, I can guess what new translators will think when they look around :-) All in all, I'm still looking for a good PO editor that facilitates my translation job.
