Sounds like you are using a boot disk for the wrong architecture. The CD you are trying to use is for Itanium processor which is very different from x86-64bit processor. You want to use the CD image for amd64 processor- <http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0_r4a/amd64/iso-cd/debian-40r4a-amd64-netinst.iso>
