SnakeYAML Engine library is used for low-level YAML parsing. This project adds necessary abstractions on top to make things work with other Jackson functionality. . This package contains Jackson 3 (Java package tools.jackson.dataformat.yaml). It can be installed together with the Jackson 2 YAML module (libjackson2-dataformat-yaml). - Why is this package useful? Jackson 3 is a new major version that upstream maintains next to Jackson 2, with new Maven groups and Java packages (tools.jackson.*), so it is a separate source package. Its first user is scaladoc, the Scala 3 documentation tool, which reads YAML with it. - Scope: only the YAML module is built for now (binary libjackson3-dataformat-yaml-java, jar jackson3-dataformat-yaml.jar). The CSV, Java properties and TOML modules of the same repository can be added later. It uses Debian's snakeyaml-engine. - Not to be confused with https://bugs.debian.org/1091927 (ITP jackson-dataformats-text), which is the Jackson 2 line of the same repository: different source, binary, jar and Maven names. - Maintenance: in the Debian Java team.
