In addition to the core library, there are numerous extensions that provide additional functionality such as additional data formats beyond JSON. This project holds the modules reading and writing the binary formats supported by Jackson: Concise Binary Object Representation (CBOR), as specified by RFC 7049, and Smile, a binary representation of the JSON data model. Upstream merged the jackson-dataformat-cbor and jackson-dataformat-smile projects into this one, and releases them together since 2.8. This package replaces the two source packages of the same names, which will be removed. It will be maintained by the Java team.
