In addition to the core library, there are numerous extensions that provide additional functionality such as additional data formats beyond JSON. This project holds the general-purpose extension modules, those that add neither a data format nor a datatype of their own: support for JAXB annotations, bytecode generation for faster serialization, abstract type materialization, and integration with Guice, OSGi and Paranamer, among others. Only the JAXB annotations module is built, the others having no consumer in Debian yet. Upstream moved the jackson-module-jaxb-annotations project into this one in 2.9.0. This package replaces the jackson-module-jaxb-annotations source package, which will be removed. It will be maintained by the Java team.
