[I include Daniele Venzano <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> because he once provided italian
data and po file for tipptrainer and might be interested.

 3. Are there alternatives for this program which are actively maintained?

I'm aware of ktouch for practicing touch typing, but have never tried
tipptrainer so I do not know if it is an alternative or not.

There is also tuxtype, which is not on the Sarge PreRelease cd's, but
that works fine.

Could anybody do a comparison of

   1. tuxtype
   2. ktouch
   3. tipptrainer
   4. ???

regarding:

   a) Features
   b) Usability
   c) Upstream support

According to Andreas Neudecker tipptrainer might be better than others
usability-wise but I have no idea with which competitors he compared nor
if others share his opinion. I see no sense in supporting a three or
more programs with the same functionality but want to make sure first
that we do not remove one of the best before trying to help it out of
its trouble. (For me personally it would mean saving a certain amount
of time to drop this package because I do not use it personally so I
have no special interest in keeping it, but I just want to take over
responsibility for making a sane decision.)

Kind regards

        Andreas.
