It's taken some time to get used to, but I love aptitude. But I'm _still_ not going to use that d$%*ned GUI! :-) Start with "aptitude upgrade", then it will upgrade most of the " ...useful packages...", and leave you with a much smaller problem list. Aptitude from the command line is better - yet command compatible. It's definitely going to screw things up, though, if you're using both. -- derek
