Hi there

A little update:
I still haven't been able to replicate this problem in any other way than hookup up the DCF77 receiver to the multi serial card. However, using Minicom to send ASCII data (which just works) and then hooking up the DCF77 receiver, shows ASCII when there should only be binary data. As if old data from a buffer is being flushed.

I noticed a change in /usr/src/linux/drivers/tty/serial/8250/8250_port.c;

  /*
   * Recover from no-data-ready and FIFO error condition to avoid getting
   * stuck in the ISR.
   */
   if (!(status & UART_LSR_DR) && (status & UART_LSR_FIFOE))
     serial8250_clear_and_reinit_fifos(up);

Flushing the FIFO when this really should happen would probably result in the experienced behaviour. It is perfectly normal for a DCF77 receiver to produce a continuous stream of breaks, framing- and parity errors and the software should just ignore these. I will try to build a kernel without this change. I haven't build a kernel since the 1990's, so this may take some time to figure out.
If this works I will try to modify the above change.

Regards,
Rob
