thanks for the patch. given the vintage of the machine in question,
i'll need to find another way to build a kernel with this patch, so it
may take a while.
in the meantime, is there a simple way for me to check the existing
openfirmware device IDs from userspace to ensure that the system
actually uses one of the listed compatible devices?
