Well, the kernel package doesn't currently build on sh4 because gcc-4.7 was built with the m4-nofpu configuration missing [1]. So, I assume it's better to have an untested kernel than no kernel at all, isn't it? I will thoroughly test the kernel package once the builds were actually able to build it :).
