I built my kernel myself; I built pcmcia-cs myself, just a couple of minutes later.
When I build pcmcia-cs-3.1.33-6 alongside kernel 2.4.20, I'm not able to use the orinoco_cs module (and I get the unresolved symbols messages). When I build pcmcia-cs-3.1.33.6 alongside kernel 2.4.20, the orinoco_cs module works fine. I'm glad you're able to use the stable pcmcia-cs with kernel 2.4.20. Unfortunately I wasn't.
