I already a couple of hours ago tried with wvdial, but it cannot find the modem at all... I have used wvdial with several mobile phones earlier with success.
--- --- root@gone:/etc# wvdialconf Editing `/etc/wvdial.conf'. Scanning your serial ports for a modem. ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 2400 baud, next try: 9600 baud ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 9600 baud, next try: 115200 baud ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- and failed too at 115200, giving up. Modem Port Scan<*1>: S1 S2 S3 Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program? Did you configure it properly with setserial? Please read the FAQ at http://alumnit.ca/wiki/?WvDial (that page doesn't exist.. ;=)) --- --- But what should I do with setserial? I have got the network manager, but it doesn't help... Maybe I should install the one from Ubuntu..? Using Gnome. -hv -------------------------------------------- On Thu, 2/26/15, Petr Kubánek <[email protected]> wrote: Subject: Re: Huawei E3372 To: "Hannu Virtanen" <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Date: Thursday, February 26, 2015, 4:28 PM You must ask modem to dial..hard way: http://ernstagn.home.xs4all.nl/GPRS-HOWTO/GPRS-HOWTO-6.html or if you use NetworkManager, broadband connections should show on..it all depends on your window manager and parts you have installed. Ubuntu does recognize modem itself and ask how to connect, including for PIN.
