I strongly disagree with this recommendation. Please *use* the GPL for documentation. Or any other DFSG-free license (as long as it's well established and GPL-compatible[1]). Please do *not* use documentation-specific (and thus possibly GPL-incompatible) licenses: documentation can be mixed with programs and other kind of works.
