All Foo Bar is required to do in this case is to distribute the modified source to the others in his research group, who presumably previously received the modified binary. The GPL only requires that you distribute (or make available) the source to those to whom you give the binary; it says nothing about publishing source changes. Kyle - -- Kyle R.
