I'm talking with the author of vim about this, and he is a bit reluctant to remove the encryption-code from vim. I can't blame him, where he lives (netherlands) it's not an issue, and we are the first to complain.
He did bring up an interesting point: would translating something from English to Dutch also fall under encryption? It seems to fit all the criteria for encryption..
