Ah yes, you're right. I was confusing it with gnutar, which was named for John Gilmore and also isn't part of GNU (though it did form the basis for GNU tar, and then gnutar got renamed 'pdtar' to avoid confusion). I'm uncertain how gnuplot got its name...anyone know?
