Exactly.
The FSF has the great merit of having built the free software community.
RMS was the first to formalize the "free software" concept.
The GNU is a very important part of today's free software code base.

But nowadays, the FSF leadership seems to play the "let's restrict it a
bit more" game, driving the community farther and farther away from the
original "free software" concept...   :-(
