-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
the package for the new upstream version of synopsis (http://synopsis.fresco.org/) which I created was rejected: > rejected, your debian/copyright misses information. > The manual has a different one than the rest. > And at least Manual.texi looks non-free: > ---+++--- > Permission is granted to make and distribute verbatim copies of this > > document provided the copyright notice and this permission notice > > are preserved on all copies. > ---+++--- An earlier version of the package is already in Debian and it also contains the file Manual.texi with the same copyright information, but the file was only in the source package while the new version now contains a - -doc package which allows to install the manual. How can I modify the package to allow it to go in main? - - Do I have to repackage the orig.tar.gz file to get completely rid of the problematic file? - - Is it sufficient to remove the Manual from the -doc package? - - Anything else? Also, I already contacted the upstream author, and it was not really intended to make the Manual non-free by this copyright statement; any hints how to make the manual DFSG-compliant in the future are welcome (I suppose a valid solution is to simply remove the copyright statement from the file). The package is available at http://www.littletux.net/debian/pool/main/s/synopsis/ Thanks for any hints & Best Regards, Andreas - -- Andreas Fester mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] WWW: http://www.littletux.net ICQ: 326674288 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEsoJpZ3bQVzeW+rsRAicuAJ4t3oJ//iM/Xpnaxk7lzpTD55IpkgCeNyrG DnUWIwmgO/NIj00RMaAX2Vc= =QUBa -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
