Michal,

If I repeat my previous attempts and specify -d jessie,
the resulting image works, the failure is consistent if
config specifies stretch.

On stretch or jessie, the debian-next version configures for stretch
if -d jessie is not specified.

Now I know, I'll stick with jessie.

Please point me to the doc which explains how to cache locally
such that the long build time / large download is reduced.
