An upstream release would be preferred but they seem to be fairly arbitrary: the last tag was cut immediatedly after accepting a new PR from me and the maintainer went on to release a subsequent untagged commit of his own upstream to openSuSE! After my predecessor's experience I decided I would not prompt about upstream releases! https://github.com/thkukuk/wtmpdb/issues/13 :-)
so I chose this commit to package because my priority is doing the right thing for people upgrading from Bookworm and I think they are owed the ability to import their old logs, so yes, please to upload to unstable!
