xsnow is marked for autoremoval, but I fail to see why.

The page says:

Marked for autoremoval on 28 July due to drkonqi, libreoffice, mold,

The next line says "It depends (transitively) on drkonqi, libreoffice, mold, rust-graphene-sys".

but, afaik, the mentioned packages (drkonqi, libreoffice, mold, 
rust-graphene-sys) are not used by xsnow.

They are used transitively.
