Ok, I am using the "debian" directory already made in that source and it seems to work except one niggling problem....
debian/mplayer/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf ..does exist. I've seen it there. dpkg-deb mplayer...deb ..says that /etc/mplayer/codecs.conf exists. BUT it's not installed in /etc/mplayer/ at all. The Debian Package system knows about it because I did a "fake" .deb just to install it and it complained that the two "conflicted" with each other.... *confound* Any ideas what might be causing this?
