In fact, I suggest the very opposite; please send all RFS requests to sponsorship-requests. It's actually easier for RFSs to get lost amongst other threads on the debian-mentors mailing list, and DDs who are interested in sponsoring are already (or should be) subscribed to sponsorship-requests.
