Dear Sebastian,
I just discovered that the alpha version of libtheora, 1.2.0~alpha1+dfsg-5, was uploaded into unstable 2025-01-14. This seem like a bad idea, given that upstream currently describe it on <URL: https://theora.org/downloads/ > as "our unstable releases toward libtheora 1.2". Last time I checked, the development of 1.2 libtheora had stopped completely as everyone that used to be involved are now focusing on AV1, and it seem unlikely at the moment that 1.2 will ever stabilise. Do you know something about the 1.2 alpha release of libtheora that make my understanding invalid and the idea to include version 1.2 in Debian unstable, testing and the future stable a good one? -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen
