I decided to wrap up a new release myself, and plan to do the release next weekend, based on the 1.2.0alpha1 release developed on the master branch. The work is being coordinated on <URL: https://gitlab.xiph.org/xiph/theora/ >, #theora on irc.libera.chat and <URL: https://lists.xiph.org/mailman/listinfo/theora-dev >.
