OK ... One problem with ocamlduce is the source -- essentially a complete branch of OCaml -- isn't going to be very simple to package. Is it possible to move to a (set of) patches against upstream OCaml?
Yes, it is possible. A possible way to distribute OCamlDuce would be a package with a patch and a Makefile that assumes that the OCaml and CDuce are available locally (or otherwise download them).
