BTW, my ssh does not depend on perl ... $ dpkg -s ssh Package: ssh [...] Version: 1.2.26-1.2 Depends: gmp2 (>= 2.0.2), libc6, zlib1g > 4) Install rename as a command. 5) Make perl-5.005-thread provide perl5-thread so that packages for scripts using perl-thread do not need to worry when perl-5.006-thread comes out.
