        Yes, that way you'll have a good fallback kernel. This thing
        of quik/OF not working correctly with the monitor is a real...

        Anyway, to create a bootable floppy, I do:

        1 - grab Debian's boot-floppy-hfs.img;
        2 - compile your own kernel with the usual procedure;
        3 - gzip the vmlinux file that will be created;
        4 - use hfsutils's hmount to mount the floppy;
        5 - copy the vmlinux.gz to replace the floppy's zImage;
        6 - humount the floppy;
        7 - install the modules;
        8 - boot the machine with your brand new floppy.
