Please read the debian-powerpc archives at lists.debian.org this problem was reported in full detail the last 12 months. There is no solution to it, you just have to stop pmud. You're Ibook has an ATI M7 which can't be sended to sleep by the kernel up to now and so the system crashes .. or anything like so it goes. The problem is worked on.
