Maybe you had ohci_hcd and usbmouse in-kernel instead of modules with 2.4 ? Or, your hotplug daemon or something like that doesn't have the correct aliases. I prefer loading all useful modules at boot-time, personally. this avoids such things :) -- Colin Ne disez pas disez, mais disez dites
