Hi Mike, I'm a bit unclear with regards to the status of the 1.7 branch of cups, specifically:
* Are further 1.7.x releases planned? Until when? As you might know, Debian releases "when it's ready", but history as shown that stable releases have to be security-maintained for roughly 3 years (~2 years between stable releases, 1 year overlap). The current plan is to freeze on 5. November 2014, with a release some months after that; therefore supported approximately until 2018. We are interested to know which CUPS branch should be shipped with our next stable release: 1.7.x or 2.x? What do you envision? * What is the status of the branch-1.7 on the git [0] ? It's current revision corresponds to svn's r11429 and predates the 1.7.1 release. Are fixes committed to this branch but not pushed? It'd be quite useful to have a public updated 1.7.x branch, to see what fixes are included. Similarly, a timeline for future 1.7.x releases would be very useful: I'm currently cherry-picking fixes from the 2.0 branch because I don't know whether a 1.7.2 is bound to happen (and when). I don't want to sound to too critical: having this repository is very useful! With my best regards, cheers, OdyX [0] https://cups.org/software.php#GIT -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
