Source: krdc Version: 4:25.12.1-1 Severity: normal wayland freerdp client is being phased out - no new development is happening in this area, and no bugs/issues are fixed.
The new variant of freerdp client in active development is the SDL3 one - it supports both X11 and Waylad backends. Currently (as of freerdp 3.22), sdl3 client is significantly more capable and less buggy than the wayland client. I plan to remove wayland client from debian soon. However, krdc recomends it, so it can't be removed from testing. BTW, what's the reason to recommend one or another freerdp3 client variant, - does krdc use freerdp binaries? Looking at the Depends: field, I see krdc lists libfreerdp-client3-3 as a dependency, so apparently it implements its own gui for the remote window, - how it uses freerdp3-x11 or -wayland? Maybe this Recommendation can be dropped entirely? Thanks, /mjt
