I have tried building a newer udev as a sarge backport, since i kind of lost some functionality (like usb hotplug and autoloading of mass storage devices, but it may be due to other issues), but i failed lamentability, since udev pulled in a new module-init-tools and hald/dbus, which in turn pulled in qt4, at which point i stopped. Do you have already done backport packages, for running 2.6.15 and beyond kernels on a sarge system, or are there real problem with trying to do this ?
