Right, OK. It's fine to request pre-approval of changes which might be controversial, but it's helpful to make that clear in the bug to save time. I haven't reviewed your diff yet but if you're sure of the changes, upload to unstable and remove the 'moreinfo' tag from this bug when it's ready to unblock please.
