At least this is what I understand from the debconf > tutorial:
I do not see the advantage of increasing the complexity by making it easier to change /bin/sh to anything but dash and bash. Switching to dash give us a speed advantage, and is well tested. None of the other shells are commonly used as replacement /bin/sh (not convinced they can be used as replacements /bin/sh), and there is as far as I know no demand for it either. Those wanting to run scripts using any of the other shells can do so already, by replacing the #! line at the top. Anyone got time and interest in working on this goal? Please volunteer, as I will focus on the dependency based boot goal for now. Happy hacking, -- Petter Reinholdtsen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
