You're right, it misses the explanation. Because the test which was patched in use_system_crypt_fixes.patch is correct again after extended DES was fixed. The crypt() should fail when the salt starts with '_', but doesn't contain correct salt. Anyway the tests are still not used to check whether the build should fail or not, so it's purely cosmetic anyway.
