Was this upload discussed with anyone on the release team beforehand?

I've read that bug, and I have to admit to being slightly confused. The
issue appears to be that the fixes were uploaded to unstable in NMUs and
then dropped in later maintainer uploads.

For at least one of the issues (i.e. the zlib linking), the fix appears
to still not be present in unstable; some clarification here would be
appreciated. If unstable is indeed still affected, that needs to be
resolved before a stable update is considered.

+ * [805df727] fix FTBFS by properly linking against zlib.

Has this actually been verified to be an issue on stable? It looks like
a side-effect of ld's --no-copy-dt-needed-entries flag, which only
became the default after squeeze was released.

It could be argued that this should be fixed in any case as a matter of
correctness, but as above that would need to be /after/ unstable is
fixed.

+ * [35e206e4] fix build-dep on libcurl to depend on real package.
+ Thanks to Michael Biebl <[email protected]> (Closes: 636787)

This doesn't appear to be relevant for squeeze, as there is only one
provider of libcurl4-dev there (libcurl4-gnutls-dev).

Regards,

Adam
