Sadly, your assessment sounds quite accurate. I had hope back then which
was my initial motivation to package these libraries.

I suspect contacting all copyright holders for mkl to ask for relicensing
could pose a significant challenge amongst other things. Glad to hear newer
mkl modules are open sourced.
