Actually, i don't think the min max seem to be affecting it.  Just changed
my password to abcdefghij, and abcdefghi won't let me in, only abcdefghij.
Then again, i changed it as root.. sec.  Yup, lets me set a over 8 letter
password as the user too.  Odd.
