Good guess, I am using "gdm". And by adding this option into my gdm.conf do resolve the problem, thanks. BTW, what's the difference between -deferglyphs option in X and the one in xfs configuration file? I ignore this problem because I thought xfs will defer loading all glyphs by having "deferglyphs = all" in configuration file.
