/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure base-config This line isn't working in the default inittab that is in place when the machine reboots for the first time.
Can someone tell me what this line does, and how I can do it by hand? dselect appears to be working. Oh hm, dpkg-reconfigure is a perl script. Maybe I can hack around that error. Any pointers?
