All uid's were /root, and State was S excepting the 'ps ax' call - R.

Here is an interesting thing -- I jumped through the keyboad setup, and the
operation returned "sun:operation not allowed"

Initiated swap init checked processes

62    sh -c mkswap -v1 /dev/sda2
63    mkswap -v1 /dev/sda2
